Events hosted at Connor's are sometimes tough for me to go to because he lives on campus at SU. After the Year of Hell, it's hard to be on campus. This time, however, I ran into three different students along the journey (as well as a couple from church). All had sparkling eyes and warm greetings upon seeing me again.
It is good to be remembered fondly and welcomed with joy. I find that my wounds have healed much, that I can receive their genuine affection, that the physical pain that comes with being there is largely gone. I even walked through campus leisurely on the way home-- something I haven't done in nearly a year. The Chapel of St. Ignatius is still beautiful at night, and I hope to return.
