Sunshine when she's gone

The weather is gorgeous, so I spent a little time tidying up my courtyard. Wish I had a clue what plants are weeds out here; there's also a tree or two that probably need pruning, about which I am equally clueless. Nonetheless, am typing from the comfort of my patio table. It was a day like this ten years ago when I first visited Seattle and fell in love with the city.

Speaking of which, barlow_girl is off with kamikaye in Arizona. Glad they're enjoying but I'll miss her this weekend. I've become spoiled (in new ways). Tonight the Andrewses come over to catch up on some Battlestar Galactica, which should keep me out of trouble.

Just got the battery warning alert, so I'd better post this entry, stat.

My gardening philosophy: if it's ugly, it's a weed.

Technically, forget-me-nots are weeds, but I like them too well to pull them. Dandelions are weeds, and too ugly to keep. There's a thistle that is quite invasive, and isn't very attractive: it's leafy looking with purply leaves at the top and teeny tiny purple flowers.
I didn't take it away with me like the song. ;o]

We did have so much fun. Hope the kids kept you out of trouble and maybe had a little fun.

We can spend a few minutes on the weeds and the trees next time there's a nice evening. :D
We had a great weekend! Now Amy's off back to Seattle. Hope you had a nice on too.
