Moving on

Feels a little more like Houston than Seattle yesterday and today. Not that I'm complaining; brings back good memories and it's fun to see everyone get so excited. My apartment stays pretty cool since it's technically a basement—an added bonus when I'm done being out and about.

Coffee is divine, even when it's warm out.

Week finished out well. Saw Revenge of the Sith again with Connor, Evan, George, and Sara on Wednesday (it'd been a while since I saw some of them, ages since I'd seen others). Cranked out lots of work yesterday without a hitch, so I should be able to enjoy something of a holiday weekend. Finally finished Bobos in Paradise this morning. It's a good time for moving on.

Life is good. I don't have it all together, but I'm blessed like crazy and there's a smile on my face. Grateful for what I have and for what I don't. Because life, thank God, is about so much more than me. If it was just some kind of journey toward self-actualization, it'd be a living hell in comfortable clothes with a veneer of false simplicity. And if I had everything I ever thought I wanted, even the clothes wouldn't be so comfortable anymore. The truth is better.

  • Losses and messes

Hasn't been the easiest past couple of weeks. Nothing awful in the scheme of things; just a steady stream of losses and messes, departures and FUBAR…
