Our cover quote for the Easter Sunday Order of Worship is from Garden State!
You know that point in your life when you realize the house you grew up in isn’t really your home anymore? The idea of home is gone. Maybe that’s all family really is. A group of people who miss the same imaginary place.

—Andrew Largeman

HOw funny, when I heard that in the movie I thought of it in spiritual terms as well.
I thought it was a powerful film.
I've got to get to Seattle and visit your church sometime!
Absolutely! Just keep me posted.

there's a handful of scenes in that movie that hit me, that's one of 'em.

i agree with blistermoth, i've been wanting to go to Seattle on a minivacation . . and your church is one of the things i want to see.
I m obsessed with the scene where Natalie Portmans mother gives Largemann a hug and he just sinks into it. I have hugged two people since then where I have experienced that "garden State Hug" where they just sunk in. Ahhh. i can't even describe it
Would love to have you come visit!
i'll let ya know if i pull it off.
What a terrific quote. I need to watch that movie again. Was this quote your idea??
No, our pastor's. He's a big fan, too.

I've only seen it once, but that movie has got to be one of the most 'certain-state-of-mind' movies I've ever seen. Almost like it takes you totally into it's world by the end. I want to see it again if not buy it.

Re: totally

I loved it. It took me by surprise in how much I enjoyed it.
That is AWESOME!
I was tickled, to say the least!
So much of the writing in that movie was things we never say, even to ourselves, so profound and so moving.
Huge fan. Huge.
Soooo competitive.
nice icons. :)
I painstakingly made them by grabbing frames and editing backgrounds to get them under the 40k limit, and I'd point that out but banzai would think that was just me being competitive. ;)
oh my gosh . . that is the best one yet. haha.
Or being incredibly cool and kick-ass (as usual).

I don't think I've even heard of that movie. What's the storyine? What category would it fit in?

Re: *curious*

It's hard to categorize; lots of comedy, drama, and romance. Here's info.

Re: *curious*

"Lithium-induced coma" seems to imply bipolar. At least, that's the most common use for lithium that I know of. But I've never heard of lithium causing a coma, or even a 'drugged-up' state. My Dad used to be on lithium a long time ago, and he wasn't 'drugged-up'. But the movie does look interesting. I'll have to keep it in mind. :)
