Take me in to the ballgame

So have I read? No, unless you count web surfing at commercials. Instead, I watched The Whole Nine Yards (fun movie; Amanda Peet is delightful on multiple levels), and am now watching the Mariners/Yankees game. Nachos and beer made it bachelor's nirvana.

On baseball: I only decided to become a fan a year ago. I never played and never payed attention (I'm that way with sports in general), but there's something classic about the game. Besides, it's good enough for Ben Sisko, so it's good enough for me. And Seattle has been a good place to become a baseball fan. There's still a ton I don't follow, I don't pay rapt attention, and I think there will always be something missing because I never played, but it's fun nonetheless.

Baseball's the only 'normal' sport I can tolerate. And I always did love that quirk of Sisko's.. and the way he'd hold that baseball when he's thinking -- and how he left it behind as a way to say "I'll be back".

I miss that show.

The only mainstream sport I really like is ice hockey (But I don't consider it a 'normal' one because it's harder to find teams for hockey on a more widespread basis than it is baseball) I love watching that (Blame MacGuyver - he got me addicted to it)

My true favorite sports are all equesterian (save foxhunting, polo and steeplechasing - all of which should be banned)
For a year I've kept a baseball on my desk. I took it home with me when I decided to leave my last job.

I do enjoy ice hockey, though I don't keep up with it. I go to a game every year or two. It's a blast, and I like the zamboni.

Most sports are enjoyable for me to watch if I'm there. Keeping up with scores or listening to the inane droning of sportscasters are not usually for me, though. And professional basketball and football just rub me the wrong way entirely.
