Level 3

Just got an email from Mike, my best friend from college (Mr. Big, the (original) Rock and Roll Ninja):

Subject: this is SO short notice

Dude -

I'm heading your way, like right now. Like I'll be there at noon Thursday. I have no agenda, other than to drive around for two and a half days. That's really it. I'm checking out elementary school locations, I'm checking out neighborhoods, I'm checking out the surrounding towns. I'm just driving and taking pictures.

All that's to say, if you're not busy Thursday evening or Friday evening or Saturday evening, mayhaps we could meet up for dinner? I don't want to impose, and I'm giving you absolutely no warning about this trip, so if you're otherwise occupied I understand. But think about it. It'd be great to see you.

I gotta get some sleep and catch a plane. I'll try to call (if you don't hear from me, it's because I'm trying numbers that are no longer good), or you can call my cell. Talk to you soon.

- Mike
