-Jesus (Matthew 11:28-30)
He said this after saying very hard things. Nothing went down easy. It seems unlikely that one would see or hear Jesus in that day and think, "Let me follow Him. That life will be easier than this one." This assurance calls forth faith.
That's still true. He still has hard things to say, yet His promise of rest still stands. Accepting both takes faith. Ultimately, there's nothing I can do with the paradox but run away or jump in. And I am always, always doing one or the other.
Something is moving, just under the surface of my thoughts. A feeling, or a package full of them. Or maybe a truth. I'm just waiting.
