"Wake up, O sleeper,
rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you."
Be very careful, then, how you live— not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
About to spend more time with Annette, Heather, and Nate; the first of our Saturday morning times together. Got up a bit later than I wanted and had a lot of trouble being motivated after rising. Vaguely troubled, and I know no way to share the reasons why with them. In part, I want to want the things I know are right and am troubled by the knowledge of where I do not. A grace that I can see this, I suppose, and the fact that I cannot see more of the crushing wickedness of my heart is perhaps the greater mercy.
But that's old news, old man, old life, old death. Get up. Get up and live.
