Was also awakened in the night by the sound of my new upstairs neighbors engaged in...vigorous activity. I need to get a radio, a fan, or a white noise generator.
Woke up bright and early at 5 am, feeling restless (between the noises from above and running around all night with Buffy, it's little wonder!), so I decided to really hit my knees and pray, rather than the half-baked moments I usually let substitute for any real conversation (talking and listening) with God. The time was very full and good.
On the walk to Victrola I saw and said hello to one of the Jesuits from SU on his morning run. It was good to be able to honestly answer, "Good!" to the question, "How are you doing?" I also stopped to watch a snail cross the sidewalk. There's beauty in the little things.
