—Colossians 1:13

God, that's beautiful.

Forgive me for ever living a smaller story than this.

Already enjoying the day off. Soothing would be the word for the morning. Awoke with an assurance, at once fragile and permanent, that everything will work out. This is true, of course, regardless of my situation, but that doesn't mean I feel it. Perhaps this is some taste of the peace that passes understanding. Denial is a house of straw— though I've stayed there before, it was terribly drafty and I never felt safe.

Good conversation with Ken, the sandwich maker at Victrola. Ken is a pastor on leave of absence from his church; it is good to see how God provides for him in work and in spirit. We would disagree on a great many things, I suspect, yet the fellowship is good today.

Some reading and writing today, I hope. Perhaps even cooking. Rest.

  • Eventless
