Blue like Friday

Went downtown for lunch with Adam today, heading out a bit early so I could do some book shopping. Regrettably, Adam called to cancel (he's sick), but book shopping was a success. Picked up Blue Like Jazz after recommendations from multiple and varied vectors, most recently Adam and romanaurora. It's an easy read—I'm about a third through it, and a reference to Stumptown Coffee reminded me of jasonmonster and scillymonster.

Annette, Heather, and Nate come over this evening for a couple more installments of Battlestar Galactica via TiVo. That should be fun, and I'm thinking dinner will be pizza from The Northlake, which I haven't enjoyed since happy2beso visited last year. That's a downright shame, bordering on the criminal—it's so good.

Feels like God is reentering my life a bit in areas where I've shut Him out. Honestly, shutting Him out anywhere means shutting Him out everywhere—if I'm trying to hold some part of myself away from His authority, away from Him, I'm rejecting Him outright. I just don't like to admit that, because it's terrifying. And it's terrifying because it should be. We who know Jesus need to stop doing this.
