Arch

Early to bed

Finally starting to feel like I can sleep. Need to start finding better ways to spend my time (or simply choose to spend it better) if this is going to be my routine. A mission would be nice.

Though there are pirates in the land, we will not be afraid

I've seen pirates today, three times: twice on their big ship, cruising down 15th Avenue, once walking down the sidewalk with their rougish swaggers (noticed no peglegs) and brandishing their cutlasses. Yarr.

Some tasks to accomplish for work today; all necessary, none overwhelming. Looking forward to switching to a Friday/Saturday day-off schedule. The Tuesday and Saturday thing just hasn't been effective for me.

This PowerBook is a dream. I'm almost certainly buying it, even though my finances aren't what they were a day ago. In this case, analysis may serve more as an enemy of peace than as a path to wisdom.

Good coffee and conversation with taci at Victrola, as per usual. Feel like I tread the same territory all too often, but she is a gracious friend.

This world is not our home, yet we're still to live here, still blessed with beauty, still ambassadors of the Kingdom, still warriors of grace and ministers of love. In it, not of it. Not of, but in.

We have no right to decide where we should be placed, or to have preconceived ideas as to what God is preparing us to do. God engineers everything; and wherever He places us, our one supreme goal should be to pour out our lives in wholehearted devotion to Him in that particular work. "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might . . ." ( Ecclesiastes 9:10 ).
